Dubya is on a campaign tour hypocritically touting the increase in the economy--he fails to mentions that even the latest encouraging numbers include even more job losses, and in Iraq 15 US soldiers are attacked as a SAM in Iraq downed their chopper. He and his PNAC boys are complaining about the filter, but they don’t mention that the US is failing in the Iraq occupation.

The reasons we are failing is because both Dubya’s chief agent of destruction, the man who gets his jollies with “Shock and Awe” Rummy, is doing a deplorable job, as is the “I‘ll take all of the credit, but none of the blame“, Commander-in-Chief.

The Chinook helicopter believed carrying soldiers en route home for leave was struck by a missile and crashed west of Baghdad on Sunday, killing 15 soldiers and wounding more than 20 others. Lately the terrorists are demoralizing the US soldiers--how can it be worse for morale than getting killed while going on R. and R.?

The terrorists are also targeting Iraqis who are in the police and security forces, and driving out international aid groups. Soon, it will be solely the demoralized US troops alone against the Iraq and other Islamic terrorists who are poring in through Iraq’s porous borders. Anyone who needs weapons to kill the US infidels only has to go the 1,300 wide-open ammunition dumps. The US troops have been spread too thin to provide security for themselves and the Iraqis, but they are guarding Dubya’s oilfields as well as they can.

GOP luminaries, former Army Chief of Staff Eric K. Shinseki and Rumsfeld’s former Secretary of the Army, Thomas White, have left mini-me’s side in disgust. Both warned that several hundred thousand troops would be needed to stabilize Iraq after hostilities ended, after “Mission Accomplished“, which sadly for the world was anything but. Dubya can’t put in more US troops, as Rummy doesn’t want him to, and even if Dubya wanted to do so, we don’t have enough. We have a small volunteer armed forces. Our poor youth’s tours of duty are being dangerously elongated. We will not get international support for this war because Dubya’s team has insulted them, and lied to them, at every chance. From Rummy’s “Old Europe” to Dubya calling the “UN a failed institution”, these fools have been hateful to our allies. When 9-11 happened our US Herr Fuhrer claimed he would get bin laden dead or alive and that the “Crusade” he had in the “everlasting war against terrorism” was sanctioned by God. This didn’t sit well with the Islamic world who could remember the Crusades of the Middle Ages. Needless to say Dubya doesn’t have any leaders in the Islamic world who can be counted on. Even the Saudis, who want the 28 redacted pages to see the light of truth, are on the ledger sheet as those who are against us.

Also, independent sources are convinced that what we had been told as rationales for the war, as well as what we now are being told, have one theme in common--hypocrisy. Dubya's propaganda machines, mostly PNAC chicken hawks in OSP, used disinformation from people who gained by spreading lies. Of course, for their war profiteering motives to occur, they had to ignore accepted intelligence agencies. The articles, "The Pentagon Muzzles the CIA--Devising bad intelligence to promote bad policy" and "Tinker, Banker, Neocon, Spy", spell this out in detail. In the time that Dubya was pushing this farce on the US Congress and the UN a lot of what they used was coming from defectors, and furthermore specifically defectors who came through an organization, namely, the Iraqi National Council, that neither State nor the CIA trusted. Rummy's OSP was the only intelligence agency which accepted the lies for cash that the Iraqi defectors, led by Dubya's hand-picked stooge Ahmed Chalibi, spun. At the CIA and at the State Department, Chalabi, the INC's leader, is viewed as the ineffectual head of a self-inflated and corrupt organization skilled at lobbying and public relations, but not much else. Prior to the war he lied to get power, and now that he is in place he is aligning himself against Herr Chancellor Bremer to consolidate his power.

"There is tremendous pressure on [the CIA] to come up with information to support policies that have already been adopted," said Vincent Cannistraro, a former senior CIA official and counter-terrorism expert about the tactics used to lie to the world. What unfolded then was a campaign by well-placed hawks to undermine the CIA's ability to provide objective, unbiased intelligence to the White House. So Dubya, here you have officials and independent sources saying that your Iraq reconstruction plans were as poor as your rationale for attacking Iraq. All of the sources say that the US has until the spring of 2004, at the latest, before even the tiny percentage of Iraqis who don’t hate us, begin to loathe the US occupiers.

We need an experienced, humane, approach to the occupation. We can’t have Rummy on the talk shows talking down to us about the meaning of slog and the Commander-in-Chief lying about “Mission Accomplished“.

What are you doing? You're in over your head, and you're not doing anything other than giving your cronies huge non-competitive contracts for the Iraq reconstruction and passing tax cuts for your contributors. If we read one more column about your "Ranger" and "Pioneer" buddies, we all become nauseous. Worse is what is happening to our dear teenage boys and girls dying in a hostile country. Now, when they are preparing to get some rest they will be overwhelmed with anxiety because of the events of today. Each day is worse than the day before.
