The wife of Australian terror suspect Mamdouh Habib will attend US President George W Bush's address to the Australian Parliament on Thursday as a guest of the Australian Greens. Greens Senator Bob Brown said Mrs Habib and her eight-year-old son would attend the speech on Thursday as a protest against the detention of Mr Habib and fellow Australian David Hicks at the US's Guantanamo Bay military base in Cuba. The three Greens in the federal parliament will wear pictures of Mr Habib and Mr Hicks on their lapels with a sprig of Australian wattle during Mr Bush's speech.
"We object to the fact that these Australians are being held against the law by President Bush," Senator Brown told the Seven Network.
"He's repatriated his American prisoners to America where they're in the judicial system, but the Australians are being held outside the law, and outside Australia."
