Update 11/19: GFP/Tom Flocco exclusive: 80% of 9/11 Victims turned Commission their Back after 12PM and didn't return from Lunch.

Protest 9-11 Commission's Cover Up!

On Wednesday 11/19, the 9-11 Commission will hold a public hearing at Drew University in Madison NJ starting at 10 a.m. This meeting comes a few days after the Republican commission chair, Tom Kean, agreed to a deal with the White House to prevent commission Democrats from having full access to the crucial CIA briefing of Bush on August 6, 2001.

According to reports of that briefing, Bush was warned Al Qaeda might hijack planes in the US. Kean's deal with Bush has outraged the 9-11 families. Show your support by bringing signs to a rally outside the Baldwin Gymnasium demanding an immediate end to the 9-11 cover up!

Advocates of skyscraper safety urge 9/11 panel to study issue MADISON, N.J. (AP) — A federal commission studying the Sept. 11 attacks should include skyscraper construction and emergency procedures in its list of topics to review and improve, a skyscraper safety advocate said Wednesday.

"Unbelievably, evacuation and emergency preparedness were sorely lacking or totally nonexistent on 9-11," Monica Gabrielle, whose husband Richard was killed at the World Trade Center, told the independent panel.

Gabrielle, co-chair of the Skyscraper Safety Campaign, was among the witnesses at a hearing of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. The hearing focused on how government and private industry can cooperate on emergency planning.

"Look at the whole truth, Tom Kean," said one sign held by Sergio and Johanna Burani, residents of Mendham, N.J., who lost a friend on Sept. 11. They said the commission shouldn't have accepted any conditions on its access to government documents.

Sally Regenhard, founder and chairwoman of the skyscraper advocacy group, said the call for an overhaul of high-rise safety has, until now, largely fallen on deaf ears.

She wants the commission to endorse the idea of giving fire protection experts more of a say in the design and construction of large buildings.

"The inadequacy of codes to ensure safety of persons in high-rise buildings became glaringly apparent on 9-11," said Regenhard, a New Yorker whose son Christian was among the 343 firefighters killed.

Kean ready to discuss 9/11 probe with public

...Barry Zelman, of Dover, whose brother Kenneth was killed at the World Trade Center, said he has some concern that the commission's final report won't be as complete as he'd like. He fears that the commission's mandate was "just a gesture" by the government to placate the public. And he's skeptical that the commission will get to see any evidence that might damage President Bush or implicate Saudi Arabia's royal family.

"I have the right to be cynical," Zelman said. "Here we are, two years down the road, and we're just starting to talk about some of the issues surrounding those days."

Kean's commission also is trying to accomplish what some other commissions have been unable to do - notably the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President Kennedy but which did not exactly close the case for many Americans. Unlike the Kennedy assassination, the 9/11 terrorist attacks were not a single event, Romance said.
