In an objective analysis of this, since the GOP stole an unfinished work product of an underpaid, and very junior, aide, Rove’s boys committed the only crime.

MIAMI -- Civil rights groups complained Tuesday that police at last week's trade talks abused protesters, including some senior citizens, by arresting them without cause and denying them restrooms, water and phones.

Meanwhile, the national steelworkers union called for a congressional investigation and the removal of Miami Police Chief John Timoney over the treatment of its members during the protests, and several groups said they will sue the city.

"The city of Miami police failed. The city of Miami failed," said Deborah Dion, campaign coordinator with AFL-CIO.

The protests turned sporadically violent Thursday, the final day of the talks.

Home Secretary David Blunkett has refused to grant diplomatic immunity to armed American special agents and snipers travelling to Britain as part of President Bush's entourage this week.

In the case of the accidental shooting of a protester, the Americans in Bush's protection squad will face justice in a British court as would any other visitor, the Home Office has confirmed.

The issue of immunity is one of a series of extraordinary US demands turned down by Ministers and Downing Street during preparations for the Bush visit.

These included the closure of the Tube network, the use of US air force planes and helicopters and the shipping in of battlefield weaponry to use against rioters.

Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, launched a stinging attack on President George Bush last night, denouncing him as the "greatest threat to life on this planet that we've most probably ever seen".

His provocatively timed comments, on the eve of Mr Bush's arrival in London tonight, threaten to create severe embarrassment for the Prime Minister. They also come with talks under way on whether to readmit Mr Livingstone to the Labour Party before his five-year exile ends....

...Mr Livingstone recalled a visit at Easter to California, where he was denounced for an attack he had made on what he called "the most corrupt and racist American administration in over 80 years".

The mayor said: "Some US journalist came up to me and said: 'How can you say this about President Bush?' Well, I think what I said then was quite mild. I actually think that Bush is the greatest threat to life on this planet that we've most probably ever seen. The policies he is initiating will doom us to extinction."

An Auckland peace activist who sent an e-mail to the US Embassy objecting to the war on Iraq has been charged with misuse of a telephone.

Police went to the Epsom home of university student Bruce Hubbard, 38, yesterday afternoon and took him to Takapuna police station for questioning.

Mr Hubbard last night said he had been charged under the Telecommunications Act and had been told by police they would seize information from his computer under the Counter-Terrorism Act.

This was the crap I heard from one of my son's teachers when I picked up the phone at work yesterday. My 12-year-old son and I participated in the march and rally in Washington, D.C., this weekend.

My son is as political as I am, WITHOUT ANY ENCOURAGEMENT FROM ME. He saw me getting involved and began studying issues and politics on his own, including magazines and newspapers. He was so incredibly excited about being in the march and being able to exercise his right as an American to express his beliefs and opinions in our nation's capital, the heart of our ever-diminishing democracy. He is particularly concerned about the Patriot Act and the various versions of the TIA (Total Information Awareness) program, and has done a lot of research on his own on these issues. So, in other words, he is definitely NOT a pawn that I have manipulated for my own use. He's very strong-willed and has a very strong mind of his own, with his own opinions and beliefs (we disagree on some issues, such as abortion, for instance).

But because he and his family have struggled financially, the government now sees him as a threat to national security. Defense Department officials believe the janitor may be tempted to sell government secrets to get out of debt.

1) Remarks on the Student Protests in Iran

For several weeks Iranian students are fighting for democratic rights and more liberties. The government's answer was repression and detention of journalists and intellectuals. We condemn this repression and express our honest, if critical, solidarity with the student movement in Iran.

Honest, because we share their democratic demands; critical, because they might serve the interest of the White House who want to re-claim Iran for the US zone of influence.

On May 26th, Donald Rumsfeld told the Washington Post: "If there is a need to take action to topple the Iranian regime in a popular uprising � we are ready to do that, especially if they don't take any measures against al-Qa'ida people who are on Iranian territory."

We don't believe, that tens of thousands of Iranian students are puppets of George Bush or CIA agents, but it's clear that their actions collude with US interests.

The White House hopes, that the struggle for democratic rights will provide an opportunity for direct � maybe armed � intervention.

We have to support the fight for democracy in Iran, but that means solidarity for a people that has led a determined and heroic struggle against the USA and the Shah. To fight for democracy also means to openly say that the main enemy is US imperialism, it means to demand the withdrawal of US troops from the borders, to demand the solidarity of the oppressed, not of the empire.

I’m of the generation that heard “Tricky Dick” say he had a “secret plan” to get us out of the Vietnam War. As soon as he said I knew it was a lie. Yeah, I don’t believe a bloody word one of their phony presidents has to say! Since “Tricky Dick” got Ford to give him a pardon, you have to take the GOP for what they are—a bunch of lying weasels! A perfect historical precedent for 43’s current predicament is Reagan. Remember that Ollie North took the fall for the Iran-Contra scandal, because Ronnie was “out of the loop”. B.S., in the military the Commander in Chief is where the ultimate authority resides. If North was guilty, then so was Ronnie. If 43 reads lies in his state of the union speech, he must take the fall!

You know who the author of this quote is, “A definite factor in getting a lie believed is the size of the lie. The broad mass of the people, in the simplicity of their hearts, more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.”

No one other than Adolph Hitler said that phrase. 43’s team understands it well!

Now, 43’s team is trying to finesse the spin so that 43’s inner team doesn’t have to get thrown out of office for petrifying the U.S. with phony lies about Hussein’s ability to launch attacks on the U.S. with weapons of mass destruction (WMD). When the U.S. Democrats and the rest of the world wondered how this was possible, he and his team of liars said these attacks by WMD was an imminent threat! They also lied to Congress and said that 43’s basis for these preposterous lies were all in classified material, that 43’s team couldn’t divulge. How many times did we hear “sources and methods”, from 43’s team, as the reason for not revealing their “secret information”?

At the time during the run-up to Iraq 2, 43’s own CIA could not be forced to say that Hussein was an imminent threat to the U.S. As a matter of fact, the CIA stated that the only way that Hussein would conceivably use WMD was if he thought the noose was imminently going around his neck. Since 1991 Hussein hadn’t used WMD. What possible thought pattern could decide that he was an imminent threat? But 43 had his “secret information”; just as “Tricky Dick” had his “secret plan”.

In his July 6, 2003 article “What I Didn't Find in Africa”, Joseph C. Wilson, the last man sent to explore this Nigerian yellow cake nonsense, by Cheney, clearly states that he, along with every other credible source told the v.p. “Heartless Dick”, that no one could substantiate that Hussein was getting yellow cake from Nigeria.

Now, 43 is trying to say he was out of loop regarding how lies about Hussein getting yellow cake from Nigeria got into his state of the union speech. These lies swung the reluctant tide against our starting a preemptive and all but entirely unilateral attack, on a defenseless country. These lies were rejected by Powell, who wouldn’t include them in his U.N. speech because he knew them to be false --yet 43 has the audacity to say he is not to be blamed. His plea will be that he was not where the buck stops. In terms of culpability, just as with Ronnie, the man in charge is responsible. He lied to us and his lies forced us into a war that didn’t need to be started! That is serious, big-time, lying and reaches the level of impeachable offenses!

Of course, both the CIA and Powell’s State Department were responsible for ascertaining the validity of all relevant segments of 43’s state of the union speech. Neither agreed with 43’s search for half-truths which he inflicted upon the drooling U.S. masses. The only group who could agree was Rumsfeld’s Office of Disinformation, his Cabal, who fed 43 lies. To the shame of our country “the honor dignity” dunce was willing to prop the propaganda up in his most pivotal speech.

It sounds too familiar to me. Our only ally in this stupid war, England, has a more alert populace. Their leader, Tony Blair, is in a sticky wicket. The English people didn’t want the war and now are mad as hatters about being forced into this mess, by Blair’s lies. Soon, the tide will turn in the U.S. and our citizens will get the clue. As each day more of our dear American youth get picked off in the “guerilla warfare” segment of “Operation Iraqi Freedom”, their grieving U.S. folks at home, will see the light. The objective older citizens will inform the American youth that this is just another GOP warmongering effort! Just like every other ones of their phony wars, lies and deception are at the base of their ulterior motives—that being war profiteering.

Maybe somehow the public will be clued into the fact that they are being cynically lied to. I have a friend in the military. Regarding the far-fetched possibility that a terrorist group could get their hands on Hussein’s WMD, he said that the only people who would die would be the people blown up in the specific explosion. The chemical and biological agents would not kill a single person, unless someone who immediately after the explosion rolled around in the agents and, or, breathed in the agents. He told me the only beneficial use of duct tape and plastic sheeting would be for the workers clearing up the blast site. They could efficiently wrap the victims up in the products that they had bought to protect themselves. Once entombed in these duct tape and plastic sheeting cocoons, they could then be transported safely for their cremation. The only other group who would benefit by the purchase of these products was 43’s friends, the executives of companies producing and selling these items. Hear the cash registers chime in more profits for 43’s “Pioneer” and “Ranger” buddies. 43 will pay them back a hundred fold for their contributions. It is the GOP way!

I’m not being cynical! This is accurate and it is saddening that the U.S. population is so far behind the English population. Who could they not take this current GOP lying clown for what he is! He is a hypocritical leach who would suck the blood out of a dead man for a penny of profit! This awful war has caused the death of so many dear Americans, as well as Iraqis, for what purpose? Just as with every GOP policy there is only one hidden agenda--more cash in the GOP blood suckers’ hands! B. Connors"
