Former Owner of Terror Flight School sued

Former Huffman Aviation owner Rudi Dekkers, already facing trial for alleged securities fraud, is being sued.

According to court documents, Dekkers and Huffman are being sued for more than $20,000 by Ascent Technologies Group Inc., an aviation fuel supplier and former Huffman vendor based in New York.

The documents claim Dekkers gave the company a guaranty of payment letter dated Dec. 5, 2002, but did not honor it.

Attached to the suit are copies of two invoices showing aviation fuel deliveries of 7,994 gallons on Dec. 31, 2002, for $13,619, and 7,970 gallons on Jan. 7, 2003, for $11,638.

A handwritten note on the Dec. 31 invoice shows that Dekkers made a partial payment that left a balance of $9,008.

The records do not reflect any payment on the Jan 7 invoice.

...Dekkers was arrested in March and charged with fraud involving a security interest.

He was released on a $1,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty.

The charge is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison upon conviction.

The case is scheduled for a jury trial in October.

According to a Venice Police Department report Dekkers borrowed $200,000 from Jossart and secured it with property he later sold.

The arrest report alleges that Jossart did not receive any proceeds from the sale despite having a security interest in the property.

Dekkers' attorney Jack McGill said at the time that Dekkers thought the loan was paid off.

The report also claims that Dekkers took the loan out in the name of Dekkers Aviation Group, which did not have a legal interest in the property put up as security for the loan.
