In a recent CBS-TV "Face the Nation" interview, presidential candidate Graham persisted in his charge that the Bush administration was covering up information about terrorist activities it knew were being carried out in the United States long before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The real mysteries of Sept. 11 include such issues as: 1) Poorly documented visas -- issued fraudulently by immigration officials failing to follow the law. 2) Restrained -- even failed -- standard U.S. military air defense protocols while the attacks were occurring. 3) Millions of dollars in suspicious pre-attack stock market insider trading, as alleged by author Michael C. Ruppert. In the "Face the Nation" interview, Graham observed that the administration, by continuing to classify information so that it's not available to the American people, has denied the public important information for their own protection and local agencies information which would help them be more effective first responders. The American people do not have the information upon which they can hold the administration and responsible agencies accountable. Graham called that a cover-up. I hope the commission investigating Sept. 11 will find the answers to these disturbing questions. We, the people, can play a pivotal role by taking an active interest.
