"...The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States will hold its second public hearing -- the first in Washington, DC -- this Thursday and Friday. The first day's agenda will include testimony from 9-11 Joint Intelligence Committee senators and congressmen who will outline the Commission's mandate and objectives.

However, given the staggering evidence of a total breakdown of military air defense on September 11..., it is curious that the Commission will only consider "Civil Aviation Security on September 11th: The State of the System" -- as a primary direction of discovery via testimony from a number of current and former Federal Aviation and Transportation officials.

Moreover, the Commission has allowed just two hours of public testimony commencing at 9:00 am on Friday, to consider clear and credible evidence of a military stand-down -- addressing "September 11, 2001: The Attacks and the Response."

At that time, Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, Major General Craig McKinley, Commander, 1st Air Force and the Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Region, and Lt. General Mike Canavan (ret.), former Associate Administrator for Civil Aviation Security, will attempt for 120 minutes to explain the failure of the United States military to protect America (and its own Pentagon headquarters) from attack. At 11:00 am, a second panel will address “Reforming Civil Aviation Security: Next Steps,” (“So this terrible tragedy will never happen again.”) The panel will include: Adm. James Loy, Administrator, Transportation Security Agency (TSA), Major General O.K. Steele (ret.), former Associate Administrator for Civil Aviation Security, and Mary Schiavo, former Inspector General, Department of Transportation and current attorney representing September 11 families of victims from airliners which crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash in Western Pennsylvania. This panel will attempt to convince the public that the whole responsibility for the events of September 11 rests on the shoulders of the negligent airlines and airport security firms -- as if multiple related issues indicating clear and certain prior knowledge of the attacks was inconsequential and unworthy of investigation via legal and/or Commission discovery. In other words, “Let’s ignore evidence of prior knowledge and/or potential criminality. We’ll reform aviation security to prevent a re-occurrence.” Disappointed, however, by 15 days of secret, closed-door congressional hearings and an 800-page mandatory report with huge portions (some of which is already public) now classified by the President’s lawyers, thousands of citizens seeking the truth behind the 9/11 crashes are waiting to hear whether the Commission will continue holding open and public hearings regarding subpoenaed evidence and testimony instead of using “National Security” to shield information which ordinarily would never be heard in secret..."
